Regular courses

  • Classes are taught in English, therefore students are required to have basic English skills.
  • Applications will only be accepted online or by filling out the form at the Academy.
  • Places will be assigned following a strict order of received applications.
  • When the groups are full, extra applications will be part of the reservation list
  • The Barcelona Academy of Art is an educational institution that admits students of any race, age, color, or national/ethnic origin.

Application deadlines

  • Admissions for regular courses are open all year. Students can join the course at specific times thoughout the year:

  • Part-time Courses
  • Special Courses
  • Students can join at the beginning of each period.
  • Maximum period for submission of applications:

Fall period: July 10
winter period: November 30
Spring term: February 28

  • Applications received after the deadline will be part of the waiting list for the quarter requested. If you do not have a place in that quarter, the application will automatically move to the next term.

How to apply

  • Applications will only be accepted online or by filling out the form at the Academy.
  • Barcelona Academy of Art demands highly skilled applicants pass a selection process (only necessary for students of the intensive program).
    • Fill out the online application form you will find in each course page on our website and wait for our answer. In each form you will find the specific information requested for each course.

We describe the information we ask candidates for the intensive program:

  • A short text explaining their motivations to study in our academy (maximum 300 words).
  • Resumé or substitute (videobook, Prezi, Slideshare, etc).
  • Link to a portfolio or digital gallery where we can appreciate the candidate’s work (in its absence, 3-5 high quality photographs of his/her best work).
  • ID/passport scanned.
  • A letter of recommendation (optional).

Registration: payment deadlines

  • Once admitted, the student will be asked to confirm his/her place with a non-refundable deposit (bank transfer). The remaining registration fees should be paid on the dates indicated by Barcelona Academy of Art. Failure to pay the non- refundable deposit, will automatically imply that your place is available to a student on the waiting list.
  • Students may request refunds (excluding the non-refundable deposit amount) whenever requested within one week of the first trimester following the start of the course. Long-term unexcused absence shall not imply a refund.
